To help with the Chilean Relief effort and to continue to support the The island nation of Haiti the Red Cross is already on the ground providing assistance to individuals affected by the earthquakes.

You can also help the victims of these disasters by making a financial gift to the American Red Cross International Response Fund, which will provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need. The American Red Cross honors donor intent. The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund is working with and supporting the efforts of reputable 501(c)(3) nongovernmental and nonprofit organizations. Presidents Clinton and Bush oversee the CBHF through their respective nonprofit organizations, the William J. Clinton Foundation and Communities Foundation of Texas. One hundred percent of donations received by the Clinton Foundation and the Communities Foundation of Texas go directly to relief efforts. If you need help with your home phone bills, the California LifeLine Telephone Program is for you.  California LifeLine provides discounted local home phone service to help consumers get and keep their service.  You will get unlimited local calls for less than 25 cents a day plus other discounts. Eligibility rules do apply, like meeting the income guidelines OR being enrolled in one of many public assistance programs, such as, Medi-Cal, WIC or SNAP. The 28th San Francsico International Asian American Film Festival takes place March 11th through March 21st at venues in San Francisco, Berkeley, and San Jose.

The Center for Asian America Media presents the San Francisco International Asian American Film Festival (SFIAAFF) every March. The SFIAAFF is the nation’s largest showcase for new Asian American and Asian films, annually presenting approximately 130 works in San Francisco, Berkeley and San Jose. Since 1982, the SFIAAFF has been an important launching point for Asian American independent filmmakers as well as a vital source for new Asian cinema.
