Yep, Stone Soul is SOLD OUT! Of course you can win tickets here at kblx.com...in the meantime....can I tell you about my favorite artist on the Stone Soul line up?
Miss Stephanie Mills! Yep. The lady has that 70s swag, she can sing and did you know that she dated MJ?
STEPHANIE MILLS hasn’t been in the spotlight for a while, but now she’s back and revealing more than ever.
The legendary star caught up with EGYPT to discuss her favorite entertainers today, crushing on TUPAC, and dating MICHAEL JACKSON.
“I like Jay-Z. I love Luda. I love Ledisi. I like Beyonce of course. But my favorite- my all time rapper is Tupac! See I could have been Tupac’s girlfriend. I love Tupac. Oh my God yeah!” she revealed.
When asked if it was true that she dated super star MICHAEL JACKSON, she replied, “Yes, I really did. I loved Michael. I thought that I was going to be Mrs. Michael Jackson, but I was ready at 20 and 21 to get married and he was not even close to getting married or having a girlfriend at that time, but yes we dated. We dated for awhile.”
She continued on about JACKSON’s kisses being passionate and that he was misunderstood.
“[His kiss] was wonderful. He was very affectionate, very loving, very sensitive. Michael was really misunderstood. Honestly, I really just think he was misunderstood because he was so sensitive,” she said.
Who knew Ms. Mills had so much swag?
Check out the audio. She washed MJ's clothes!

I am so happy that the KBLX Brunch is BACK! This is one of my favorite parts of my job. KBLX listeners are the best, and I get to kick it and have fun while we enjoy great food and conversation. Isn't that what the weekends are all about? It's the best way to celebrate or get together with friends. When are you coming through?

There are several recipes out there for good gumbo, and some of them are BOGUS! LOL.
That being said, I think the most important ingredient is this:
It's pronounced FEE-lay. Gumbo File' is a powder of sassafras leaves and servers primarily as a thickener. Some sources say that if you use okra, you do not use file'. My mom never put okra in her gumbo, so I have no clue if that's true or not. File has a particular flavor to it as well....and if I don't detect any, I know I am eating some fake-arse gumbo! LOL. But that's just my two cents. Once you have all your ingredients together, the first thing you do is make a roux.....but that's a hole 'nother post....
People often ask me how I 'do it all'. (LOL)....I am indeed a pretty busy single mom who wakes up at 4am, but staying on top of my mommy/work/personal duties is always a work in progress. Who ever gets it right all the time?
However, I will tell you what helps:
Right now, I am doing Deepak Chopra's 21 Day Meditation Challenge. It's AWESOME, and it's FREE. What more do you need to know? :-) The theme is "Creating Abundance". If you know Deepak's work, you know that he is VERY good at making the complicated very simple and opening your eyes to the blessings right in front of you. I am on Day 9, and my head is swimming in good thoughts!
More good news: You can sign in quickly via Facebook, and the meditations stay up for 10 days after they appear. There's still time to jump in.....and even if you don't do the whole 21 days, each individual meditation is pretty amazing on its on.
Meditation is NOT a religious practice. It enhances your spiritual practice regardless of your beliefs.
